Writing grant proposals for nonprofits is important for community health and wellness. There is grant funding available that can be put to great use by dedicated, driven nonprofits. I really want to help in those efforts! As a result, I have completed numerous classes, including a certificate in Proposal Writing from the Connecticut Association of Nonprofits, to advance my skills in that area.
Grant Writing for Health
In 2012 I even completed two internships with Connecticut nonprofits so that I could put my passion for the promotion of health and happiness into action. Through working with two agencies (Women & Family Life Center of Guilford, CT and Animal Assisted Therapy Services of West Haven, CT), I was able to learn the ins and outs of grant researching, crafting letters of inquiry, and completing thorough, clear and concise grant proposals.
My work was met with praise regarding how “beautifully-written” the grant mission, goals and project plans were. My passion for the issues, along with my ability to carefully follow grant instructions, research community issues, and depict a nonprofit’s challenges combine to create effective grant applications that win funding.
